You probably know that difficulty in trying to fall asleep or staying asleep through out the night can sometimes cause you to have daytime problems such as, irritable, tiredness, lack of energy, difficulty concentrating.
There are a few things that you can do before you go to sleep. Such as:
- Making sure that you don’t stimulate your mind a few hours before you try to go to sleep.
- Make sure that your bedroom is at a comfortable temperature not to hot but not to cool. Having your room on the cooler side is better.
- Try using a white noise stimulator we offer a wide Varity of white noise stimulators to block background noise.
- Light is also important, try to avoid bright light. We also offer many different types of lights specifically designed for night time usage.
- Try to avoid looking at the clock before you fall asleep or if you wake in the middle of the night, "because anticipating how much sleep you get will also increase a high level anxiety”.
- Eating food or drink late at night can also be a culprit due to over active digestive systems to sugars and caffeine’s.
The five states of sleep are critical to insure a healthy state of body and mind. Most adults do not reach the final stage of sleep known as REM (rapid eye movement). We offer various types of sleep aids to better insure a peaceful night’s sleep.
Five states of sleep are:
- State 1 - Slow eye movement (SEM) begins when your just starting to fall asleep.
- State 2 – Though easily awakened an unconsciousness person has no eye movement and will not dream in this state.
- State 3 – In midway between stages 2 and 4 Delta waves start to occur linked with deep sleep.
- State 4 – is the deepest state of sleep in which there is a continuation of delta waves. This is the most common state of sleep out of the four that dreaming occurs.
- State 5 – REM (rapid eye movement) which is known to occupy 20 -25 % ( 90 to 120 mins) of our sleep a night in adults and 80% in babies. This is where we dream the most, remembering what we dream and our brains neurons are quite the same as if we were awake. Known as the normal sleep the 4 states prior to REM are referred as non-REM.
